Vindication!

Haunted by blown calls in Super Bowl XL, referee Bill Leavy acknowledged officiating mistakes that may have contributed to the Seattle Seahawks 21-10 defeat by the Pittsburgh Steelers 4 1/2 years ago:
It left me with a lot of sleepless night, and I think about it constantly. I'll go to my grave wishing I'd been better.
Leavy is too hard on himself: Seven times he and his zebra brethren flagged the least penalized team in the NFL with one questionable or outright blown call after another. The 'Hawks didn't play well that afternoon, so I won't say that the zeebs cost them the game. But the Stillers weren't at their best, either; a level playing field might well have changed the outcome.

Here, the 'Hawks lose a touchdown when when the Enemy of All That is Right and Good calls a ticky-tack offensive interference penalty on Darrell Jackson. As the video shows, Steeler receivers operated with impunity:

Leavy terminated a Seahawk goal line stand with extreme prejudice when he gave Ben Roethlisberger this phantom TD:

Naturally, the NFL capped this Little Shop of Horrors by issuing an official statement that the game was "well-officiated."
