When I think of the hopes and dreams formerly held within the walls of those ravaged homes it breaks my heart.
Scientists and engineers who knew this level of damage was possible issued warnings years ago, but those in charge of funding didn't heed them. More than a force of nature, Katrina was a man-made disaster. That's the real tragedy.
