Pope Benedict's personal priest has accused the pontiff's detractors of indulging themselves in the "more shameful aspects of anti-Semitism." Now, there's no more shameful aspect of anti-Semitism than the Holocaust, with the Inquisition, the pogroms, and 2,000 years of Catholic church doctrine assigning collective guilt to Jews for the Crucifixion. So how does Father Cantalamessa see the pope? As the victim of a one-man genocide because of his faith? As man unjustly tortured or crucified on the cross of child sexual abuse? I mean, who are the victims here? Doesn't anyone vet this garbage? While church officials bobbed and weaved (one helpfully explained that "parallelism can lead to misunderstandings") and blamed society, Jewish and molestation survivor groups were predictably and understandably outraged...
