The Ad Fox Wouldn't Run

An ad salesman for the network whose viewers' knowledge level ranked next to last in a recent survey said that Fox rejected the ad because it was "too confusing." For some reason, Fox did not reject the following ad, perhaps because it features an Iraq War veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart:

Shared! Somebody posted this on Gather.com last week, and the usual Fox groupies failed to turn up to spew venom on the poster. Righties are to scared to diss combat vets about anything!

It's inconceivable to these people that a veteran might have actually concluded that war is bad thing that often has murky, counterproductive consequences. I'll never understand the rush to war on the part of people who won't actually have to fight.

You know, I actually believe that Fox would find the first ad confusing. Their little minds are programmed to spew the Fox story of the day and they are incapable of thinking for themselves.

I will run the ads on my next blog post.

My Dad fought in The Battle of the Bulge and had a very similar take on wars and the people who love them. It's a racket, I think he said. He volunteered because he hated living on a dairy farm and was willing to take the first ticket out of there. So much for flag waving and so on.

Darlene:Thanks! Let's get this out there!

Rasta: I take it you've you've sen Band of Brothers? Memories of Bastogne still make some of those guys cry. Paul Fussell, who fought in WW2, shares your father's opinion. He wrote that all war movies except for the first 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan are a crock.
