The "C" Word

I'm a little hesitant to post this video. It concerns a word that I don't use and that I regard as one of the two most offensive epithets in the English language. On the other hand, the video gets at an important point: The MSM hasn't given this any attention out of pure squeamishness, while at the same time they saturated the air with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. In fact, were it not for the internet, very few people would know about this incident. As things stand, though, McCain has never denied this incident, so there's little doubt that it took place. It says a lot more about his character and temperament than sitting in a church says about Obama's.

So, don't watch this video if use of this word offends you. But...it is funny and he did say the word.

The Guardian's Leslie Savan explains just what this incident does say about McCain while castigating Clinton supporters who would even consider voting for him...

Here's a worthwhile project: "The Orwell Prize, Britain’s pre-eminent prize for political writing, is publishing George Orwell’s diaries as a blog. From 9th August 2008, Orwell’s domestic and political diaries (from 9th August 1938 until October 1942) will be posted in real-time, exactly 70 years after the entries were written." More here...

Whatever would we do without the great Ben Sargent?

Your comment that McCain's use of the "c" word says a lot about his character is a good point. Words can tear people down or build them up, show respect or demean. The fact that McCain chose to call her that in front of a reporter shows just how little respect he has for his wife.

And if he feels that way about his wife, in what low esteem does he hold women in general. It's astounding to me that a woman Clinton supporter would consider voting for McCain...

You know, almost as amusing as his use of the other word is offensive, is his use of the word "trollop." It sounds like a word that The Simpsons writers would have Mr. Burns use to make him sound old. Given that this is John McCain we're talking about, this seems appropriate somehow...

While I find this shocking, what really saddens me about it is that I don't think many men would understand how offensive this really is.

I'm always thinking "If a person is willing to talk like that in front of people with tape recorders, cameras, and memories, how are they talking when they are alone?"

Was this the entry you were asking me about? My home computer doesn't have sound at the moment, but I will play the video later when my rude husband gets home and gives me back HIS laptop LOL.

Bill: "I want players from the American League, the National League, and the Negro League."

NF: This is the one! I look forward to your response.

SB: Great to have you back in action!
