common purpose, shared citizenship ? wow, this guy has been in a cave since 2000 ! I am soooo ready to give W. and his cronies the heave ho I can taste it. As usual the GOP wrecks it and the Dems are given the task of fixing it. We can't do any worse than we've been doing at least. I am intrigued by your Irish trips. I made one with my sibs and mom 3 years ago but it was a senior trip for her 80th birthday and I would love to go back with my own family. Happy New Year.

I know what you mean. After nearly 20 years of the Gingrich who stole Christmas, it was actually amazing to hear the president-elect speak in these terms. It's something out of Franklin Roosevelt's Fireside Chats: "I do have faith, and retain faith, in the strength of common purpose, and in the strength of unified action taken by the American people." As for the Auld Sod, ye'll have ta' go back then, won't ye!
