Oh, To Live On Cougar Mountain

Today, we hiked to a waterfall on Cougar Mountain.

This trail was originally created by Indians over 10,000 years ago.

Cougar Mountain was mined for coal around the turn of the century. Remnants of mine shafts cross under the trail.

Waterfall.

Snag.

Around the year 1900, miners from Newcastle and other towns gathered in this meadow to play baseball.

You have that much green already? Wow! We're still pretty brown here.

Don't you love old trails?
