Just Answer the Question, Son

Embattled RNC chairman Michael Steele wrote this in an internal memo to his underlings:
[We have] the responsibility to assure our donors, volunteers and voters that it's nothing but our core mission which drives every dollar we spend, every phone call we make, every e-mail we send and every event we organize. Recent events have called that into question.
Whereupon Mr. Stand Up Guy fired his main flunkie. The recent events, of course, have to do with a $2000 night out at Voyeur, "a bondage-themed strip club" in West Hollywood. (A Voyeur spokesperson indignantly denied that it is a strip club, instead calling attention to its "live art installations with a voyeuristic theme.") Well, a rose by any other name, huh? (We'll smoke that, too.)

But, Mike, while you've gone out on a limb and held someone else accountable, many, many unanswered questions remain:
  • What part of the RNC's core mission mandated a $2000 night on the town at a club with live art installations and a voyeuristic theme?
  • If said night out didn't have anything to do with the RNC's core mission, what was it for?
  • Why would RNC staffers believe that expenses for this "event" would be approved? Is this type of entertainment standard at the RNC?
  • Was this an "event" that "we" organized? If you count yourself among "we," why haven't you resigned?
  • You can't have an "event" by itself, so...just who was there, anyway?
Inquiring minds, etc., etc...

This one goes out to Mike and the guys at the RNC (did we really wear shirts like this?):

So much for being the party of family values, huh?

Paul Sanchez has a point; we really do have a screwed-up system of deciding what's legal and what's not!

Great Traffic video! Yeah, we really did wear shirts like that. Remember my story about my Arlo shirt? Although the shirt I really wanted was that silver number Mick Jagger was wearing on the cover of the album; I never did find one!

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but these guys never cease to amaze me. Love the "office supplies" from Congressional Liquors and Bendel's, too! Would sure love to hear their tax deductions...oh, that's right. They probably don't pay much in the way of taxes anyway. Great post, K.!

"live art installations with a voyeuristic theme" is certainly probably not a strip club. Sounds more like a sex club to me, but what do I know?

tnlib: LOL!

Roy: There are a lot of good Paul Sanchez songs! Let me know if you'd like me to burn you a CD. And when I think of this one particular 70s-era dress shirt that I had...Let's just say that made the 80s look subtle.

MP: Thanks! These guys never cease to amaze. They actually want to turn the country over to a group of clowns and little kids throwing tantrums and waving flags.

The GOP's holier-than-thou stance is getting more comical each week.
