Loan Me A Dime

Nothing I write can top this:

For the record, left to right you're watching Mr. Warren Haynes, Mr. Derek Trucks, and Mr. Boz Scaggs.

Ahhhhhh! Nice way to start off my morning! BTW, Boz was just here last weekend performing at the Newport Yachting Center as part of the Sunset Music Series. No, I couldn't go; it would have taken a lot more than a dime to get tickets.

Yes, I agree! A great way to start my day, too! Hope you have a beautiful day and a fun weekend!

I haven't seen Boz since the 90s. A friend gave us tix to see him at a downtown Seattle pier. Beautiful night, sailboats moored, gorgeous sunset, band all dressed in black, note-perfect renditions of everything you'd want to hear. I also saw him in the mid-70s at the Armadillo World HQ in Austin. Sleeves rolled, driving soul-rock. Another time, a dressy affair in San Antonio where he played with a 25-piece orchestra. For some reason, SA was the only place he took that show outside of California.

Anyway, this rendition of Loan is apt: Warren Haynes reinvigorated the ABB in the 90s, and Derek Trucks is Duane's heir apparent.

Hey, Just saw your "What I'm listening to" and don't you just LOVE Susan Tedeschi! She sounds so much like Pearl, Janis Joplin. I couldn't believe it when I first heard her! Wonderful, wonderful.

Susan T. is excellent. Check out her rendition of Richie Havens' "Follow." Here's Richie's original. Susan's is just as good.

We saw her last year with husband Derek Trucks in the Soul Stew Revival. Great show.

I was wondering when you'd drop by a see this! I thought about pointing you here, but figured why ruin the surprise. I had no idea that it existed -- found it on page four of a YouTube search for something else. I rarely go that deep.
