President Obama Addresses the NAACP

President Obama addresses the NAACP on the occasion of its 100th anniversary. President Bush spoke before the nation's oldest and most established civil rights organiztion once.

I got up early this morning and watched a rainbow dissipate...

Pat Buchanan seems to think that the biggest problem facing the country is discrimination against white males and that Republicans should oppose Sonia Sotomayor on these grounds. Rachel Maddow very patiently tears him a new one...

I couldn't watch the Rachel Maddow video after Buchanan opened his mouth. I just can't listen to/watch that moron without risk of stroke. I can read his stuff, but actually hearing/seeing him spew the garbage he spews just sends me right over the top.

The President's speech to the NAACP, on the other hand, was brilliant! And the Neil Young video was great, too. I love those old jams that go on forever. But what was that surreal bit of action in the beginning, with the guy lowered to the stage and all those guys dressed up like monks?

They're the little guys from the beginning of Star Wars, which was two years old at the time. They sold C3PO and R2D2 to Luke Skywalker.

I've seen Neil play "Hurricane" once. A giant fan on one side of the stage blew gusts that had his hair flying all over the place. The other electric Neil show I saw, he played "Cortez the Killer" in the "Hurricane" slot.

Poor rich white guys. They never get a break.

And this morning, the idea of watching a rainbow dissipate makes me sad.

Our President still moves me.. can't help it.. He just does.

I wrote a letter to MSNBC asking them to get Pat Buchanan off the air.. Not sure if it will help but if enough people do it, it will.. So, call or write..lets get his hate speech and racism off the air waves. Phone number is at my site and so is email.
