In Recovery

The surgery went well. The doc had three back operations before digging into my wrist, which he described as a "relaxing surgery" in comparison. Everyone at the hospital was supportive and efficient; once again, I was struck by how good our health care system can be if you have access to it and if you live in the right part of town. Anyway, the post-op pain grew rather acute. What can I say buy Percocet Rules!

Rehab last 12 weeks, including eight weeks in a splint and appointments with a Certified Hand Therapist who will design a custom splint.

Good to hear the surgery went well. Here's hoping the rehab goes well. I wonder how much you'll be able to hang out on the computer, though; they may want you to take it easy with that kind of strain on the wrist for a while.

Glad to hear all went well and your on the mend. You're gonna get really good and one handed typing. :^)

So glad you're doing well, K.! The same thing happened to one of my teachers - ankle for her. The Hubby broke his arm a couple of years ago and got a plate and several pins, screws, etc. Now Little Man loves running his metal detector over Dad's arm to make a satisfying beeping noise!

Rest, recover and relax - your custom splint sounds mighty cool! And kudos on the one-handed typing - impressive, my determined blogger friend!

Wow, what an experience. So glad to hear that you're being well cared for. Try to be a good patient for T, we gals know you men can be a little tough when you're down and out. ;)

I can attest that Citizen K. is a model patient: He's "patient", kind, loving and stoic. (Albeit, a bit stoned from the percocet but no one's complaining about that!)

T. is actually describing herself as caregiver, minus the Percocet.
