Incident Report

This morning at the hand therapist, I learned how to massage the scar tissue from the surgery, which I have to do 3-4 times daily. I also found out that it will be a couple of weeks before I can begin movement exercises with my wrist. Apparently, it will be close to a year before I regain complete mobility, and there's a good chance that that the hand will always seem slightly askew.

I got home to a communication from the insurance company. They require a complete "incident report" in order to "determine if some other party may be responsible for paying the bills." Alarms have gone off. Will they attempt to duck payment? I called for help answering one of the questions; the representative indicated that this was all pro forma. I hope so, because there's no way that this was anyone's fault...

Lord, what a pain in the ass (and the wrist.) How much money are they going to waste with this "investigation"?

Good grief. This is exactly what you're supposed to have insurance FOR.

Tell me about it. The total bill for this is bound to be around 15-20K. How am I supposed to go after a school district?

gosh, I've been out of the loop way, way too long....had to go back to november 11th to find out what happen with the wrist. but that's good, otherwise I probably wouldn't have caught up on on the posts I missed and just started anew with this one!!

enjoyed your review of the lacuna. there were many passages that were so beautifully written they almost took my breath away. my current read is such a let down after this, although I much preserver as it's for book group.

the big question is we will ever really be able to reform the bloodsucking insurance companies!

I think the question really is pro-forma, because they would enjoy hearing that Workers Comp is responsible. Good luck with your healing and don't worry too much about the insurance-- they have to pay! Take care, sp,n.o.

Paul has forgotten, for just a moment, that he is married to a woman who is willing to take on any insurance company WITH HER FANGS BARED. 'Nuf said.

I dunno, I'd be worried. I think ice counts as a preexisting condition now.
